His Eyes Were Full Of Shine

Yesterday morning I was sipping my latte on the balcony. My eyes fell on the January flowers that bloomed beautifully. Aaliyah was not at home. I made breakfast and switched on my favorite show.  Half an hour later the doorbell rang! It was Alan.

“Hey, Alan! It’s good to have you back! We missed you here!” I expressed and gave him a hug.

“I missed you all too while I was back at home. Here, I have got some blueberry cheesecake for you both! Mom had baked it,” He said and sat on the couch.

I made him coffee and served it with a chocolate croissant. Alan looked different! He was full of smiles and his eyes were full of shine.

“You look so happy! It feels great to see you this way after a long time,” I said.

“Yes, I am happy! Going home after a couple of years and being surrounded by my loved ones made me really feel great. I had a wonderful time dancing and talking at length with my parents. My heart is so full!” He replied.

“I know how it feels! You see the January flowers there?” I asked.

“Yes, I can!” He replied.

“They blossom beautifully when they are in the right environment. Such is the magic of being surrounded by our loved ones. It is nurturing for the soul and mind, both. It adds joy and strength!” I expressed.

“You are so right, Bob! Visit to my home this time made me realize how important it is to spend time with our beloved people. Now I’ll be doing that more often!” He said.

“Yes, always spend as much time as you can with them,” I said.

Then the rest of the morning we enjoyed the blueberry cheesecake along with our conversation.

Spending time with our family and friends always paves the way for real happiness. It keeps us rooted and happy. The selfless love and care cannot be put into words! The personal touch gives us that feel-good feeling. We feel loved and are ready to give love. There is nowhere like home! And, there is no one like our precious loved ones!

Let’s always be grateful for having them!
